Extension to the film
After reviewing the footage and using the best parts, I found it wasn't enough to constitute around 5 minutes of footage, I would have had to use lesser quality footage to 'pad' it out which for me isn't good enough, so I have decided to film more and add some more story on with this new footage to add a sense of interest to audience because they will see that it is part of a much bigger plan being carried out across many different areas of crime.
Currently I don't have shots because I still looking for a suitable location to film in but I do have a rough idea of the kind of shots and props I will need.
The new shots take place, of course at the end after the phone.
From the shot of the phone call inside the car it will go black for a moment and lead onto where
we see the front of the person with just his mouth showing with the phone next it listening to the message left in the previous shot. His mouth will be straight and without expression to signify now tough and powerful he his as he no longer gets excited by these kind of details, he just expects them now.
The next shot will be from his perspective of him clicking off the phone call and putting on the desk. We then see him reach to side of the phone and pick a red pencil with the same hand and lift it up to show that he wants to use it.
We then cut a extreme close up of two images on a pin board, both pictures are of the two men who were gunned down previously with a name tag below, names yet to be decided. However we only the see the top part of each one of the images with the pencil appearing and crossing through their face from the top to bottom to reveal their name below, this will repeat on the second image.
We then see the pencil follow a piece of string that has been pinned on next to their images, the pencil will follow it down in a slow, dramatic style as if the person is savouring this victory for his 'business'. The string ends a pinned on piece of text with a custom company name on and saying something like 'acquire' or 'buy'. The character will then proceed to circle it a couple of time and dot with the pencil on the text that isn't the business name.
We then get a short shot of him putting the tip of the pencil in his mouth as if he pondering something about this, like the first shot we will only see his mouth to hide who he is.
Then we get a shot of him putting the pencil down by his side and starting to take a step back.
It then goes to a shot of the pin board from the centre and it panning out to reveal the full extent of his plans, you will be able to see the one he has outlined somewhere on the board, this is done to reveal the full extent of his plans and what it will all lead to. When the whole thing is in shot, the camera will pause for a few moments to let the board sink in with the audience so they can appreciate the scale of this crime empire! This is also the basics for the menu screen that would let the online viewer click to other sections of the plan and watch them unfold and see how it will devolpe...
Finally there is a shot of him picking up the phone again but this time from a side shot from the tables perspective, he will pick it up and when the phone is no longer in the shot it will move to the shot from his persecptive of him chosing the person to call from his contacts which reveals a bit more about his business partners and friends till he stops on the one he needs (name to be worked out) then he will click on it and reach up with it and when it is out of shot on the side of his face it will move to the shot of the side of his face with the phone obscuring any details that would give away his identity to the audience, he will then say something like 'time to make that purchase Nikoli' or 'buy out the shares and begin aquisition'.
It will cut black and after a short pause the credits will start with possibly a fake news report saying the remains of two men have been found dead in what has been called a possbile suicide in their home and then the credits will start to roll...

Editing and making the film
Last Wednesday and today, I started editing the footage together to create the final product, it won't be easy but in the end, the final product will be glorious and the reward for all the time filming and planning (not counting the grade of course).
Here are all the shots that will be used in the final film; uncut and unedited so forigve any fowl language or random craziness that happened within them, after all we are only teens trying to make a film. They are in order of which ones will happen first.

Filming
On Saturday the 2nd of November, filming for the film took place with the guys and in the location we wanted to film in even though we were are risk of people being in the way. We had luck when it came to filming, all through the week previous it had rained but on that day there was nothing and it was a fine day for filming, we spent 2 hours filming creating many extras and deleted scenes for still getting good footage for the film without much issue.
Naturally there were stupid parts like this picture below while we were filming in the car.
This one was taken while we on location of one of guys in the film, Jack Trusell.

Unused shots
We did have plenty of unused or deleted footage from filming and here is some of it.
This shot is of the meeting and the attempt at it.
This shot was after the meeting and we found out the hard way it was too dark film so we improvised with some dramatic lighting which we will be seen in the final product.
A final unused shot is from where the driver is phoning his boss and the guy we were phoning let it go to voicemail and ruin the atmosphere we were trying to develop .

Location, Location, Location 04/10/2014
After creating a storyboard and looking up some possible music choices, I decided to go location hunting taking photos of optimal areas and equipment to use like the car. The shots are empty because the guys I am making it with were otherwise engaged, but they are in order of the storyboard shots I took.
During these shots the credits will be shown to
keep interest to the clip and stop it from being boring for the audience. It goes to a dash cam shot while driving, they then turn down a side road and begin to drive down, in the background you can hear the radio still on. This builds up an ominous feeling of what will happen next.
Then
we get an external shot of the car coming down the road in an open area with a
hand holding another case on the left side, this suggests a meeting of some
sorts.
The
next is from one of the driver’s friend’s perspective who is at the end, so
there is one in the middle of the camera and driver (the camera will be angled
to hide their faces), the driver says, ‘cash first’. The business man grimaces
slightly and beckons over with his hand the associate with the case who then
gives it to the business man, he then hands it to the driver. The business man
then says, ‘now where’s my product’. The character that the shot is from the
perspective of who is also holding the case, walks over to him and gives it to
the business man who takes it off of him going, ‘pleasure doing business with
you’ and smiles quite menacingly at the camera while it moves back in line with others.

Next
you get a perspective shot of now dead business man on the ground staring at
the driver going to the car and the other two men standing against it, one with
a petrol can next to him, the driver looks at the closest man and says, ‘make
it look like an accident’. He then gets in the car and drives away while the
man that he wasn’t speaking to grabs the can and with his friend, walks up to
the camera, the man with petrol can then pours what the audience will believe
to be petrol while the other goes off camera to deal with the other body.
Finally there is a shot inside the car over the driver’s seat from the rear passengers angle of him using a phone (calling someone) attached to the dashboard above the gearstick, it rings as he driving up and then when it picks up after around two rings, he says, ‘it’s done and we have the money’. He then turns it off and when he clicks it off the screen drops black and the radio music starts playing. The end credits will start playing, giving quote to where the music has come from and other attributes.
There are some shots missing due to time issues of taking the shots, I.e. it is on a public roadway and traffic does pick up in the afternoon of people walking and going to the houses nearby.
More will be added after filming when all the shots have been created and the weather is also fair.
…and
the camera goes to an over the shoulder perspective from the drivers left side
as he walks up to the business man who has an associate in the background
leaning on the car, along with the drivers footsteps you can hear two other
sets walking in time with him. The business man will say, ‘ah my old friends,
you brought the stuff?’
You
then have a shot from over the shoulder of the driver walking back to the car
with some of his face in the shot, this is the first time you see him. As he is
walking back so are the other two men are walking back to their car, when they
get to it they open the case to find it presumably empty as they shout out in
anger and turn to attack them, but the driver puts on a pair of sun glasses and
it turns black with the sound of machine gun fire in the background.

Presentation Time 07/10/14
As part of the overall unit, I am making a presentation on the film with examples of things like:
Setting the scene
The film itself will be set around the time of the 90’s in a world dominated by crime and shady dealings and corrupt officials in society, the characters that will film will take the perspective of will be unknown to the audience to give a sense of mystery and intrigue about why they doing what they do.
Target audience
My target audience are people aged from 18 to mid 20’s.
The film will shown as one of a series of short films in the form of a internet web series, the first one (one being made) will be setup with the end at the start and the rest would reveal what chain of events caused this to happen. This works well with my audience as this age range is very similar to the demographic for people who would watch this on the internet.
External examples
Of course, to make this work research needed to be done into other examples of this particular genre for inspiration. Examples looked were the:
- Examples of films/ programs that I drew inspitation from
- Target Audience
- Backstory to the film

- Payday 2 web series which followed a group of criminals
- The film Gangster squad with it’s gritty storyline and crime setting
- The British detective show Luther with it’s style of portraying people without giving away their identities
- The Sopranos TV series which followed a family of organised criminal's
Within the presentation there will also be images of the locations to give some persepective of where the film will be shot, they also add some depth to the presentation so the people watching don't have to just look at text all the way through.
Musical Interlude 30/09/14
Today I looked at music for the driving segment that would fit well, the idea of building up tension in the clip without giving too much away of what would happen next and the runi it for the audience.
After seaching around I have found some possible songs to use, the first one may not be in the context of crime but it does talk about death and the end of the something, in this case the world. The music is copyright/ royalty free so I will just referance the guy who made it and the channel from it in the end credits.
Name: The Day the World Died From: miracleofsound
The second song I would need to find copyright permissions for as it is still owned by a group, however it does seem to fit better as it is crime/ mafia based and does build up to something during the song itself.
Name: Woke Up This Morning By: Leonard Cohen

Storyboard 10/09/14
This is the first storyboard created for the movie so it is a bit roug and lacking in deatil, but the rough plan is there.
First shot:
Camera looking at the sky while in motion with car noises in the background,
quite faint with the radio going but not very loudly. The tint of the glass affecting the view.
Second shot:
Goes to a shot of a briefcase on someone’s lap with their hand on it while inside the car with the radio now slightly louder.
When it transitions to this shot, after a few seconds the title appears, ‘Dirty Work’.
Third shot:
Then a shot of drives mirror with nothing it while the driver says,
‘remember the signal, (his eyes appear in the mirror) don’t f##k this up’.
Forth shot:
Then it goes to dash cam shot while driving, they then turn down a side road and begin to drive down,
in the background you can hear the radio still on.
This builds up an ominous feeling of what will happen next.
Fifth shot:
Then we get an external shot of the car coming down the road in an open area with a hand holding another case on the left side, this suggests a meeting of some sorts.
Sixth Shot:
Then a quick shot while in the car of the last shots perspective with the driver saying, ‘get ready’. You can see a business man with an associate holding something in front of their own car.
Seventh shot:
Then there is a shot of the car pulling up with the left hand headlight coming close to the camera before turning off, the music that has been faint in the background of the shots with the car in then stops to signify it was the radio. The car door then opens and a foot appears…
Carry on shot (Eigth):
…and the camera goes to an over the shoulder perspective from the drivers left side as he walks up to the business man who has an associate in the background leaning on the car, along with the drivers footsteps you can hear two other sets walking in time with him. The business man will say, ‘ah my old friends, you brought the stuff?’
Ninth shot:

He then turns it off and when he clicks it off the screen drops black and the radio music starts playing.
All of these will be subject to change/ alterations when the final product is released if they are bad or just can't be done effectivly.
